Results

Highlights

Reduced leaching by 40% when blended
Increased nutrient retention
Healthier crops and increased yields
Holds three (3) times its weight in water
Increased resilience against pests
Our Key Independent Trials and On-Farm Demonstrations have yielded groundbreaking findings that showcase the immense potential of Mort & Co Fertilisers. Notably, the DAFF trial, conducted in a laboratory setting, demonstrated that our blended fertiliser can reduce nitrate leaching by up to 40% compared to traditional Urea fertilisers. This means more nutrients remain in the soil, resulting in healthier crops and increased yields.
In fact, our on-farm demonstration at Grassdale showed an impressive 35% increase in crop yield. The unique composition of our organic fertiliser allows it to hold nutrients below the surface and retain three times its weight in water, making crops more resilient to dry periods and pests. With these remarkable results, we are hoping to take the next step and embark on a commercial-sized field trial, bringing us closer to transforming the future Australian agriculture, and protection of the Great Barrier Reef.

Safeguarding the reef

The Great Barrier Reef stands as a precious wonder that demands our utmost protection. Mort & Co is committed to playing its part in preserving this natural treasure.
Conventional fertilisers have been known to contribute to soil leaching, particularly nitrogen leaching, which poses a significant threat to the environment, waterways, and the reef itself. However, we are changing the narrative with our blended fertilisers that reduce nitrogen leaching by an impressive 82.7%.
